Import from SAP Business Suite

I want to use the feature in PowerDesigner v16.5 to import data from the SAP Business Suite.  Does this require a database level logon and pw or would I be using my SAP login and pw?  My BASIS admin says he won't establish a database level logon as that is against our company's best practices.  If a database login is required, is there a standard account that SAP recommends using?

Any other tips and tricks would be welcome as well.
